Abstract

This scientific article examines the role and importance of implementing the preventive function of the penitentiary system in international legal documents, its efficiency and effectiveness. Also, the article focuses on the goals and tasks of the penitentiary system, human rights and freedoms, the impact of the goals of punishment on the nature of the state penitentiary system and the types of punishment. In addition, conclusions and proposals for improving the current criminal law of the Republic of Uzbekistan are presented in the article.
