Abstract
The aim of this article is to show the local impacts of investments in the development of Samarkand region in Uzbekistan. The survey method was used to investigate the attitudes of community members towards the impacts of tourism investments in different areas in Samarkand. According to the surveys, investments in tourism sector created new job positions, dramatically improved road infrastructure and service activities as well as reputation of the city.
