Abstract
this article is devoted to the methodology for the formation of literary consciousness and the development of language skills in students on the basis
of folk legends. The article presents the role of folk tales in the educational process, through which they teach students literary and moral values, as well as ways to increase the wealth of vocabulary, develop speech and expand their creative thinking. Folktales serve as an important tool in enhancing students ' linguistic wealth, using words correctly, understanding synonyms and antonyms, as well as articulating speech clearly and fluently. At the same time, the article also considers methodological approaches used in the development of creative activity of students and the formation of literary consciousness with the help of narratives. The article provides students and teachers with useful recommendations on the effective application of folk tales in the educational process.
